flying over mt everest

Tuesday 29th March
Woke up too early, 6 am for an 8am flight. for some reason they wanted us to be there an hour early. once we got to the airport there were no signs or announcements, we had no idea if we were going to miss the flight or what??? Eventually we were called forward and we jumped on our plane, about 20 minutes late. finally we were up in the air, it took a little while to get above the cloud cover but once we were there it was truly amazing. this massive mountain range stretched as far as i could see, rising far above the clouds. I cant imagine how peaceful and the solitude and satisfaction you would get from trekking around these mountains. I think its defniately on for my next trip. as we came to Mt Everest i went up to the cockpit for a view straight out the window. Surrounded by massive mountains i cant even begin to describe what it was like, youll just have to check out the photos. after everest i went back to the hotel for a nap.

I was going to see bhaktapur after the flight but i was so buggered i slept right through it. once i woke up i was starving and went to eat and check my mail. I had met this guy kahmal who had offered to take me around so i went to see him. I decided i would have my palms read, what the hell eh?? anyway he took me to this guy who was supposed to be famous in nepal. the place was very small and very cramped and there were a few nepalese in there. apparently hes very busy because he is very good. anyway after waiting about 20 minutes it was my turn. he wrote down a few things and asked me about my birthday. he guess a few things right or at least kinda right, like my gran passing away in november, breaking up with camii in august 02 and again recently. he had written down the number he asked me to guess between 1 and 12 and he got that right. Im a skeptic but i thought what the hell, ill get one here and one in another place and see what they come out as. He reckoned i was going to make a lot of money (surprise surprise… all he had to do was ask me ;) hehehe) he said i would marry at 31 and have a child at 33 and two more to follow. he said i should be careful of thieves and never lend money. he said i would live til i was 75 (surprising since i am diabetic :) ) he said saturn would give me trouble and i should wear a ring made from the shoe of a black horse (considering that doesnt fit into my fashion code it wont be happening) dont remember what else… but thats enough to test against other so called clairvoyants in other countries. anyway after this we went back to his shop and he passed me on to one of his mates to take me to bahktapur. it was a 20km taxi ride and really what it is is the site of the old khatmandu. it has some incredibly detailed woodwork in some very nice old brick houses. everything is rather quaint and no one seems to do anything except sit around and talk and maybe occasionally do some pottery. mucked around there for a few hours and came back to the hotel. Simon (my roommate) and i decided to go and party, after going to just about everybar in kathmandu of which all were basically empty we decided to call it a night as we had to get up early for the bus ride to chitwan national park.
