Tuesday 20th April
Today is the last day, its gone so quickly and i am so excited to be leaving this shit hole. Finally some modern conveniences, although i had to be up at 3am to catch a cab to the airport in case there was a traffic jam and i missed my flight. Today we went to the biggest Muslim temple, built by the Mughal King who built the Taj Mahal. We climbed the towers for a breathtaking view of Delhi. We then went to the place of Mahatma Ghandis cremation and also a musem dedicated to his life. They had his old false teeth, the bullets that killed him, all sorts of weird stuff. We all decided to go back to the nice hotel for a swim, and relax. Unfortunately Trevor was very sick and couldnt spend the rest of the day with us, but Mel, Lisa, Sarah and i sat around the pool
Our last dinner was at a place called Rodeo, a mexican restraunt with indian waiters dressed as cowboys. The food was delicious and everyone had a great time. We topped it off with some delicious ice cream and there we parted ways. Looking forward to seeing my scrabble companions in Canada and sarah when i get back
. I fell into bed at 12, pretty well gone. SUddenly at 3.12 the phone rang, it was my wake up call. The taxi was waiting, i got my stuff together eager to get out of india. Ive never had a more harrowing taxi ride ever. This guys steering wheel was on a 90 degree angle to go straight, it felt like the brakes were about to die and to top it off i had to keep hitting him to stay awake. I really didnt want to die just before i managed to get out of India.. Finally we got there and i waited a couple of hours before getting on the cathay pacific plane that was my saviour. GOODBYE INDIA
AND GOODLUCK… youll need it
goodbye india, wishing you all the best…. youll need it by golly
